Ahh the cold days of winter. A sharp chill in the air. The sound of crunching snow under your feet. Cloudy grey skies, Ice cycles, snow drifts, slow drifts, frozen runs, high heel snow on your boot accumulation, frozen guides, sluggish fish, low water, low body temps, frozen hands, frozen boots, crunchy waders, beanies, layers of clothing, small flies, midges, little black stones. But all worth it when you catch a few fish with no one else around.
Picky rainbow finally took a slow drift. Cold hand release.
Fishing a frozen run with beautiful ice formations on the walls.
Quint Gerber with a nice Truckee River rainbow.
